This occupation covers building, checking-out, servicing, inspection, maintenance, diagnosis and repairs Mobile Aircraft Support Equipment (MASE), functional and production test equipment for use by inspection, production, and engineering personnel in testing aircraft mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic components, instruments, and systems and various combinations thereof through simulation of actual operating conditions.
Fabricates, assemblies, services, and repairs functional-production test equipment involving hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, mechanical and computer-based devices, instruments, and components, and various combinations thereof for testing such major systems-components as electrical prime power supply, engine ignition, automatic pilot, and bomb release systems; electronic radio compass, navigational, interphone, and aircraft identification systems; hydraulic brake, control booster, and emergency bail-out door systems; and mechanical landing gear, flap drive, and control surface systems.
Performs the functions indicated below and specializes in building or maintaining hydraulic-pneumatic and mechanical test equipment or electrical and electronic equipment; works with others outside own field of specialization, as required. Coordinates efforts of other test equipment builders assigned to assist in building or maintaining specific equipment on which specializing. Works with equipment design, functional test, and product engineering personnel to advise of possible errors, omissions, and inconsistencies and to make suggestions for possible improvements or changes.
Determines order in which components will be fabricated and sequence of fabrication-assembly of detail and purchased parts. Initiates material requisitions and work orders for fabricating parts-assemblies in other departments such as machine shop, welding, heat treating, painting, and equipment installation groups. Prepares sketches and instructions therefore, maintains work follow-ups, and otherwise works with such departments in interpreting drawings and requirements, reconciling inconsistent data, and in supplying or obtaining missing dimensions or information.
The Functional Test Mechanic Builder A tests, diagnoses, repairs, services and inspects (scheduled and non-scheduled) all forms of MASE equipment to determine equipment serviceability and proper function. Uses data systems to document, monitor and analyze equipment and maintenance actions. Fills and maintains LOX carts and nitrogen trucks.
MASE consists of, but not limited to, test stands, PAO carts, servicing carts, ground power carts, lifts, AC carts, power supplies, jacks and manifolds, special test equipment, engine trailers and other Mobile Aircraft Support Equipment that directly supports the aircraft.

Basic Qualifications:
Have a minimum of two years experience as machinist (journeyman level), plus minimum of two years experience in fabrication and/or repair of *industrial electrical control circuits.
OR
Four years of verifiable experience maintaining AGE/GSE equipment.
*NOTE: Residential and commercial electricians' license not acceptable; experience must be industrial based on control circuits.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
