As we look to grow our footprint in the region, we are seeking an experienced business development leader to help us drive transformative growth and align with our international customers’ evolving missions.

THE WORK

As the International Business Development Director for the Middle East & Africa, you will lead the strategy and execution of RMS’s growth efforts in the region. This executive role involves a multi-year (minimum three year, eleven months per year in region) expatriate assignment, where you will be embedded in either Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates. You’ll be responsible for:
• Developing and executing regional and country strategies that support the RMS long range plan (LRP), focusing on opportunity identification, market shaping, and long-term growth.
• Leading a team that builds and sustains strong customer relationships and local presence.
• Partnering closely with Lockheed Martin Global Business Development International (GBDI) and Government Affairs (LMGA) to coordinate customer engagements and stakeholder strategies.
• Supporting Lines of Business (LOBs) by providing in-country insights and facilitating international resource allocation across RMS.
• Managing regional budgets for consultants, sales reps, tradeshows, and expatriates.
• Engaging with U.S. government stakeholders, including FMS policy entities and U.S. Embassies.
• Overseeing pursuit strategies, program support, execution alignment, and localization opportunities.
• Conducting executive-level reviews to gain strategic alignment and leadership support across pursuits.

You are a proven international business development leader with a strong understanding of defense acquisition processes, global customer engagement, and cross-cultural relationship management. You thrive in dynamic environments and have demonstrated success managing large portfolios and leading teams in the pursuit of complex opportunities. You bring:
• Significant experience in international business development, preferably with knowledge of the Middle East and Africa defense landscape.
• Deep familiarity with U.S. government processes, including Foreign Military Sales (FMS).
• Executive presence and the ability to influence senior-level stakeholders internally and externally.
• Experience managing teams and budgets across geographies.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to lead integrated strategies across lines of business and corporate functions.

Basic Qualifications:
• Excellent communication, collaboration and negotiation skills.
• Exceptional knowledge and appreciation of the Middle Eastern culture and seamlessly execute high level engagements.
• Demonstrated success in leading in a matrixed team environment. Ability to establish strong collaboration with all different functions and departments across Lockheed Martin.
• Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials, especially material for executive briefings and decision-making aids.
• Reporting on new opportunities as well as briefing current pursuits will be a regimented requirement.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for use at all levels of the organization such as employees, management and customer
• Expect to travel in the Middle East/Africa (approximately 80%) in support of business development and negotiation.
• Proven business acumen to ensure limited internal resources are allocated to timebound pursuits with a high position to win.
• Experience working in Middle East and/or Africa with strong and established customer, ministry of defense and other key customer relationships.
• Business Area localization or offset experience in the MENA region to help shape future industrial participation projects in close collaboration with the RMS IP team.

• Experience negotiating International, Firm Fixed Priced, and Direct Commercial Sale contracts
• Possess technical and/or maintenance knowledge of radars, ships, Command and Control systems and helicopters

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $180,000 - $287,500. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
