The Lockheed Martin Sensing team is seeking a technically versatile and savvy individual to lead a diverse team of Systems Engineers who perform the following functions in the Remote Sensing Line of Business (located in Sunnyvale, California): CONOPS, system performance analysis, mission performance analysis, and resiliency.

As a Systems Engineering Manager, you will:

• Serve the technical team in achieving its objectives through all phases of a program: from architecture and requirements development through system integration and test, verification, and initialization and operations support

• Grow the team, expand skill sets and deepen bench strengths to meet anticipated program needs

• Establish, manage, and communicate team expectations, goals, roles, responsibilities, and objectives

• Manage team resources, staffing, and progress

• Provide programmatic and proposal support

• Contribute shoulder-to-shoulder with team members where the successful candidate’s background and experience aligns with the technical thrusts of the team

• Learn and grow with the team

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors or higher degree in Optical Sciences/Engineering, RF/Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or closely related field

• Significant experience as a key contributor in one of the following areas:

1) System or system-of-systems concept of operations development

2) Detailed engineering modeling, performance analysis of complex systems or systems of systems

3) Interface integration between systems in an end-to-end mission; hardware- and software-integration in complex systems

4) System-of-systems test campaigns, including the detailed planning, execution, troubleshooting, and post-test correlation of results to predictions, in support of verification

• Demonstrated track record of successful program/project execution as a team lead

• Superb communicator, able to share message with audience across different technical backgrounds, experience, and points of view

• Active Top Secret security clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI/Poly
Desired Skills:
• Experience in leading a multi-disciplinary team of analysts and engineers to achieve key wins/major milestones

• Versatile leader with a strong desire to serve, the vision to build and grow a systems design team and its analysis, test, and operational support arms to one with deep bench strength that endures for the long term

• Desire and interest to take on technical planning and related activities in support of program execution (e.g. CAM duties, IMS planning, and program status, etc.)

• Results-oriented: willing and able to work side-by-side as an individual contributor with the team as needed(e.g. support test on the floor, perform analysis, contribute to technical content, engage stakeholders to remove roadblocks, etc.)


• Familiarity with the Sensing team’s customers

• Experience with detailed modeling, performance analysis, and testing of optical systems

• Systems Engineering life cycle process and tools

• Proposal preparation, execution, and negotiation

• Knowledge of program management, finance, contracts, Earned Value Management (EVM) and demonstrated business acumen

• Masters Degree (or above) in Optical Sciences/Engineering, RF/Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or closely related field

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with Poly

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $118,100 - $226,400. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $135,800 - $256,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
