Description:Come join Lockheed Martin Space’s Sensing Systems Analysis Team!
You will leave key imprints on our critical national security products through your efforts in detailing the resiliency mission operational concepts and tight coordination with both component and vehicle interfaces. You will influence and track implementation evolution, provide documentation that serves as multi-party agreements; all of which will ensure our space vehicles perform to and exceed their missions.
We are seeking a versatile mid-career engineer who has demonstrated success and passion in taking on design and complex system integration issues ranging from the hardware/software- to satellite-level and the operational mission space. Undaunted by challenges technical or programmatic, you generate ideas and collaborates with stakeholders to create solutions aligned to the new reality. Curious, goal-oriented, dedicated, and loves to solve puzzles, both a voracious gatherer of existing jigsaw pieces and a creator of the missing pieces, fearless of being wrong and confident of finding a solution after quick course corrections.
You will be exposed to a variety of technical problems, and we will challenge you to solve them through coupled constraints and conflicting conditions, and work with you to clearly communicate your findings and support your recommendations. As a Resiliency and Mission Analysis Engineer, you will be on the forefront of technology integration into various unique national asset hardware systems, with an emphasis on the holistic success of the overall mission. Job duties will include, though are not limited to:
• Own space vehicle level resiliency requirements, their verification planning, and implementation
• Evaluate design implementation solutions and operational test scenarios aligned to use cases
• Engage with stakeholders from multiple disciplines within the program and Lockheed to achieve mission objectives
• Collaborate with subcontractors, customers, and external partners to develop technical solutions to design requirements and meet mission objectives
• Ensure mission performance analysis’ validity through accurate implementation of constraints and models at appropriate levels and detail
• Participate in integrated system tests campaigns and events
• Engage with external partners to ensure interface compatibility
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors in Engineering, Applied Physics, related subject area, or equivalent experience
• Experience with one or more Systems Engineering functions including:
- Hardware and/or software-systems integration for satellite programs
- Interface definition
- Concept-of-operations development
• Knowledge of the Systems Engineering process including trade studies, design reviews, requirement development and system verification
• Technical collaboration with subcontractors
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Ability to operate and collaborate in a dynamic environment with excellent time-management, being highly organized
• Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and the mental flexibility to accept and evaluate multi-disciplinary feedback to do right by the mission
• Reliable interpersonal skills and ability to build consensus among peers and solid relationships with cross-functional and inter-organizational team members
Desired Skills:
• Knowledge of spacecraft architecture, subsystems and components
• Experience with complex, large-scale spacecraft development from design through integration, test
• Experience with interface development within a System-of-systems architecture
• Ability to absorb extensive technical detail and formulate solutions for implementation on an inflexible
schedule agreement with stakeholders
• Internally motivated with the desire and aptitude to perform the following in rapid-fire succession, repeatedly: identify issue; survey, propose, and assess options; build consensus; and share team recommendation with comprehensive rationale
• A systems thinker with the ability to implement change and provide optimal multi-disciplinary solution
• Resiliency functions and missions
• Complex mission-level analysis with multiple and competing scenarios and drivers
• Space hardware or software design installation, integration and/or test
• Component- or system-level performance analysis
• Familiarity with engineering processes such as: engineering review boards, discrepancy review boards, configuration management, requirements verification, ground system H/W and S/W engineering processes and aerospace operations
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (Cameo, Rhapsody, etc)
• Proficiency in MATLAB or equivalent for data manipulation, analysis, and modeling
• Excellent presentation skills, versatile speaker who can effectively brief audiences from different backgrounds and/or with varying technical knowledge
• Active TS/SCI security clearance with investigation in the last 5 years
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $100,400 - $192,500. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $115,500 - $217,500.
