Job Responsibilities
Description:IAM Hourly represented employees who currently work at the main (Sunnyvale/Palo Alto) unit, Santa Cruz, VAFB or Eastern Range facilities must apply to open requisitions on Brass Ring to be considered for the position.
Independently perform all operations required to assemble, configure and operate all
types of high-value RF test equipment used for compact, tapered, outdoor, farfield and
nearfield antenna ranges for the purpose of measuring radiation pattern characteristics.
Assist engineering in the development, integration and test of new antenna system or
spacecraft designs, techniques and theories.
Under limited technical guidance, perform the following duties in the field of antenna
measurements and range operations, working from verbal information, test plans, or test
procedures.
Set up and perform mechanical alignments and operate RF signal scanners and laser
tracker positioning systems in both the vertical and horizontal planes. Configure and
operate complex winch equipment to position large spacecraft with the ranges.
Plan and document methods and sequences for antenna range development,
configuration, range probing and characterization, including coordinating the fabrication of
antenna prototypes and test aids.
Develop antenna design details including the computation of antenna range axial ratio,
space loss, wavelength relative to nearfield/farfield measurements, and antenna range response to linear and circular polarization. Modify software to control automated
antenna analyzers in conjunction with positioning systems tests. Implement and use
advanced acquisition, analysis and processing software to produce automated antenna
performance data tabulations and plots.
Integrate both active and passive microelectronic components such as MIC and MIMIC
devices with developmental antenna system to perform microwave component and
antenna radiation pattern measurements, such as determination of phase characteristics, front-to-back ratio and antenna system efficiency.
Acquire and process test data and prepare test report documentation using existing
software programs and manual calculations resulting in both plotted and tabulated
outputs to satisfy engineering and/or test procedure requirements. Validate data for
performance limits and phenomena, corruption of data due to measurement errors, and
conformance to specifications.
Investigate operation failures, malfunctions and other difficulties occurring in complex RF
range equipment, mechanical alignment and positioning systems and spacecraft
antenna systems. Troubleshoot and implement necessary repairs
Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires completion of a two-year program in electronics technology, including
studies in microwave theory, and two years of directly related experience.
Complete knowledge of both active and passive electromagnetic and microelectronic
applications along with microwave/millimeter wave antenna range and measurement
theory; thorough knowledge of antenna coordinate systems.
Demonstrated knowledge of related microelectronic components such as MIC and MIMIC devices, of mechanical alignment and positioning systems and of advanced data
acquisition, analysis and processing software. Demonstrated ability to integrate active
and passive microelectronic and mechanical devices with developmental antenna
systems.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
The base range for this position in California is $29.97 - $56.32.
