The Space Security Division within Lockheed Martin Space’s Mission Solutions business area is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Systems Engineer-IT Associate Manager with refined managerial skills to lead an Agile team focused on IT Infrastructure (Systems Administration, Networking, Hardware, Dev Sec Ops) on the Coronado program. The Coronado program is a fast-paced development effort to contribute to the success of a very challenging and rewarding mission.

You will serve as the functional lead of an IT/Architecture/IA team tasked with managing, updating and deploying secure, open architecture, infrastructure(s) to meet mission needs. You will be involved in real-world deployment of large virtualized private cloud platforms and services, working in a collaborative, agile environment to design, develop, and deploy next generation applications and systems. The development environment and infrastructure will leverage 5th generation languages and platform and infrastructure automation technologies.

This position will report into the Engineering & Technology organization of Space. The agile manager will lead a team of engineers and have direct cost, execution and schedule oversight for project/program budgets. Candidate must be able to lead, drive, and energize a team of multiple skills and job disciplines. Candidate must have the ability to adapt to agile methods that will require a dynamic staffing approach, depending on the time-phased needs of the program.

An active TS/SCI clearance is required prior to start. Applicants must be willing to provide consent / submit for a Polygraph Examination associated with required security clearance listed in the Basic Qualifications.

Basic Qualifications:
Knowledge / Skill Requirements:
  • Professional experience in Systems Administration, including the ability to manage and maintain a variety of systems (e.g., Windows, Linux, CentOS, RHEL) and related infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, security, and efficiency.

  • Security+ or CISSP certification


Security Clearance Requirements:

  • To meet requirements of the program/customer, this position requires the selected employee to be a U.S. Citizen.

  • Qualified applicants must possess at minimum a currently Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility (either adjudicated or the ability to obtain SCI access) to be considered.

  • Selected candidates will be required to possess at minimum an Active Top Secret with adjudicated SCI Eligibility (i.e. TS/SCI) prior to starting employment.

  • Long term employment on this program will require completion of Polygraph examination as required by the customer, with favorable suitability results.

Desired Skills:
  • Experience managing or leading systems infrastructure teams, with demonstrated responsibility for personnel management, technical guidance, and project oversight.

  • Cost Account Management

  • Risk Management Framework

  • Windows 2016+, Windows 10, CentOS, RHEL7+

  • Windows System Administration including Active Directory, power shell, group policy, WSUS etc.

  • SQL Server administration and deployment

  • Hyper-V / ESXi configuration

  • AWS experience

  • NetApp experience

  • Cisco Networking experience

  • Linux system administration

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
