Come join Lockheed's Advanced Strategic Programs. This group of diverse Engineers has a long history of supporting the Air Force Mission reaching back to the 1960's. Today's challenge is to support the modernization of the Minuteman Weapon System by crafting, building, testing and deploying new Reentry Systems and Ground Equipment that will enable the new system to perform for many years to come. This critical mission area has to be done right, pass meticulous certifications and last for many years to come. If this challenge is for you, you belong in ASP.
We are seeking a Reliability Engineer for Strategic Re-Entry Programs to help establish technical solutions and system designs for one of our country's most vital and sophisticated strategic Systems!
This position will work within an integrated product development environment along with many engineering fields to ensure that product designs meet customer reliability, Built In Test (BIT), availability, service life and reliability growth requirements.
As a Reliability Engineer, you will support the Systems Engineering (SE) Special Disciplines Organization in Reliability.
In this role your responsibilities will include:
• Applying, maintaining and executing the Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) program plan per the customer requirements
• Working along with Domain Experts in various fields, performing analyses at all levels of the total system product over its life cycle to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
• Working with Statements of Work (SOWs) and System Specifications to ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total system solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
• Performing or assisting in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
• Performing detailed trade studies and requirements allocation and interface definition studies in your subject area to translate customer requirements into hardware and/or software specifications
Basic Qualifications:
• Aerospace/Missile experience
• Experience in six (6) of the following:
o Reliability Program Plans
o Reliability Predictions and Analysis
o Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
o Critical Items List
o Availability
o Maintainability Analysis and Predictions
o Fault Tree Analysis
o Probability Risk Assessment (PRA)
o Familiarity with Reliability HDBKS and Standards (i.e.; MIL-HDBK-217, Milt-STD-1629, MIL-STD-1543, MIL-HDBK-338, MIL-HDBK-472)
o Application of probability and statistics to support decisions regarding sample size, burn-in life testing and failure analysis investigations
• Experience with formal report preparation (CDRLs, SDRLs) and interaction with external customers to adjudicate comments and obtain approvals
• US Citizenship with the ability to acquire and maintain a Secret security clearance
Desired Skills:
• Coursework in college level courses related to the following desired degrees - Mathematics, Operations Research, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Physics
• Experience in all facets of the conduct of a reliability program to include: Reliability Program Plans, Reliability Predictions and Analysis, Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis, Critical Items List, Availability, Maintainability Analysis and Predictions, Fault Tree Analysis, Probability Risk Assessment (PRA), familiarity with Reliability HDBKS and Standards i.e.; MIL-HDBK-217, Milt-STD-1629, MIL-STD-1543, MILHDBK-338, MIL-HDBK-472, the application of probability and statistics to support decisions regarding sample size, burn-in life testing and failure analysis investigations
• Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker with the ability to select and apply appropriate systems thinking skills to solve problems and implement constructive change
• Missile or space segment design and test experience with one or more subsystems or fields outside of Systems Engineering
• Proficiency in mathematical modeling, statistical analysis, electrical circuit design, and environmental effects on performance
• Prior experience with ground-based Support Equipment and Nuclear Certified Equipment
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills, strong social skills, and ability to build solid relationships with team members
• Familiarity or proficiency with the following engineering tools: [SysML/Cameo Magic Draw, DOORS, MATLAB, Architecture Framework such as DoDAF, Model Center]
• Current or Active DOD Secret Security Clearance.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
