Job Responsibilities
Description:
You will be the F-16 Fighter Aircraft Flight Manual Manager for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Field Sustainment (AFS) team part of the System Safety Engineer Staff professionals! This position will function as the flight manual subject matter expert (SME) responsible for managing the technical content, format, and accuracy of assigned United States Air Force (USAF) and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) F-16 flight manual publications. This position is located at Hill AFB, Utah and requires close coordination with the F-16 System Program Office (SPO). This position requires an extensive background in military aircraft and use of flight manuals. The selected candidate will be joining two others on the flight manual management team at Hill Air Force Base, Utah.
What You Will Be Doing
The flight manual management team is the final review authority prior to the release of flight manuals to F-16 Units. You will work independently and within a team environment to:
• Provide guidance strategy, planning and continuous improvement assistance to the F-16 Chief Engineer and Engineering Director in all activities related to USAF and FMS F-16 Flight Manuals.
• Participate, as a voting member, on the Flight Manual Executive Steering Group (FMESG).
• Interface with onsite and offsite Flight Safety and System Safety engineers to assist in clearing flight manual related USAF Safety Investigation Board (SIB) recommendations.
• Coordinate with the Technical Order Manager (TOMA) for Flight Manual Program (FMP) numbering, printing, distribution, and indexing.
• Participate in Technical Order (T.O.) Planning and Requirements conferences.
• Provide technical content expertise to facilitate the quality of in-process reviews, preliminary and critical design reviews, pre- and post-publication reviews, flight manual T.O. review boards, and other T.O. development functions.
• Work closely with flight safety to assist in determining requirements for new flight manual publications and updates to existing flight manual publications.
• Coordinate with Configuration Management (CM) to identify flight manuals affected by organic change modifications.
• Ensure proper receipt, processing, and resolution of USAF Forms 847.
• Coordinate with the TOMA to ensure concurrent delivery of manuals, associated checklists, and supplements.
• Inspect and approve reproduction media and printed or electronic copies of publications.
• Ensure the addition of internal links in the digital flight manuals prior to their distribution.
• Coordinate sustainment of the Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) and Automatic Stores Configuration System (ASCS) programs for the USAF and FMS.
• Travel to FMS countries to provide flight manual briefings.
• Must be a US Citizen and possess at minimum an Interim Secret Security Clearance and able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance as well as a valid U.S. passport.

Basic Qualifications:
The following Basic Qualifications are skills that a candidate must possess to be considered for this position.
Candidate must possess at least one of the following qualifications:
A. Flight crew with experience in the weapon system
B. Military aircrew experience using flight manuals and technical orders
C. Experience as a Flight Manual Manager
Additional Skill Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in any field of study
• Experience working with multiple agencies, customers and stakeholders.
• Experience developing professional presentations and presenting information to audiences at multiple levels.
• Must be a US Citizen and possess at minimum an Interim Secret Security Clearance and able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance as well as a valid U.S. passport.
Desired Skills:
The following Desired Skills are not required but are those skills that would set a candidate apart from other candidates:
• Bachelor's Degree in an Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering discipline, from an accredited college
• Rated Pilot, F-16 rating
• Aircraft mishap investigation experience.
• Understanding of the flight manual change process.
• Experience working with Adobe Acrobat Pro.
• Ability to effectively interface with civilian government, DoD, and industry representatives.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and must be able to work well in a team environment.
• Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working with MAJCOM functional managers and experience in aircraft Customer Support functions.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
