You will be an F-16 Technical Publications Author - Level 2.

What You Will Be Doing

In this F-16 Technical Publications Author - Level 2 position, you will be responsible for complete development and authoring of maintenance instructions for a complex aircraft. This role requires experience developing aeronautics technical publications.

You will be able to:

• Work in a fast-paced development environment to proactively acquire information required to perform their tasks.
• Effectively work with multiple engineering, flight test and customer support representatives.
• Utilize Engineering technical data to develop flight manuals and maintenance instructions.
• Work closely with customer representatives to exceed expectations within scope of the program.

You will have general experience and knowledge of aircraft operation and maintenance, being able to leverage that experience in planning and decision-making. Working independently, they will develop and deliver technically accurate technical documentation for complex systems. Experience in verification and certification of technical publications is a plus, as well as the ability to interpret engineering drawings, commercial technical manuals, technical drawings, and schematics. Utilizes released engineering obtained from Multi Program Release System (MPRS), Electronic Document Management System (EDMS), and Aerospace Engineering Instructions (AEI) to develop F-16 avionics and weapons system fault isolation procedures, job guide procedures, and general system descriptions. Coordinates and communicates with the local Central Technical Order Control Unit, Air Combat Command, Equipment Specialists, as well as internal engineering to provide technical order maintenance for multiple F-16 customers. Receives, processes, and evaluates the merit of technical order change requests (AFTO Form 22 and AF Form 252) received from field units. Supports requests for technical order pricing activities as necessary.

Further Information About This Opportunity

This position is in Fort Worth, TX  Discover Fort Worth.
Basic Qualifications:
• Experience with engineering drawings, escape system technical orders, canopy systems, removal/installation/rigging (i.e. Fault Isolation, General System, and Job Guide procedures). Prior military aircraft experience preferred

• Prior ejection seat and/or egress experience with operational checkout procedures and/or general system descriptions (i.e. aircraft and back shop inspections, repairs, test procedures)

• Ability to interact with outside customers to resolve technical issues as required. i.e. Depot, Program Manager, Item Managers, and LM Engineering
Desired Skills:
• Prior experience on ejection seat/egress systems, including ACES 2 and Martin Baker systems
• Prior technical writing experience strongly preferred
• F-16/F-22 platform egress experience preferred
• Experience with interpretation of engineering data, as well as, technical procedure authoring
• Experience with Egress Systems theory of operation and integration with aircraft systems
• Experience using Epic Editor, Isodraw, Arbor Text Tool Suite, Quick Silver, XML, S1000D or similar
• Flight line experience using Technical Orders (TO) to troubleshoot discrepancies within the ACES 2 or Martin Baker egress systems
• Experience replacing Cartridge/Propellent Actuated Devices
• Experience using aircraft and egress system related test/support equipment
• Willingness to expand technical skills within other F-16 systems .i.e. ECS, Fuels, Emergency Power, Oxygen
• Ability to travel for technical data validation and verification of new procedures (US/Foreign)
• Experience with Standard Group Markup Language (SGML or XML) tagging in a composite environment
• Knowledge of Explosive/Safety Standards and Procedures as related to the Egress Career Field
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
