Description:Reporting to the Vice President, Global Programs and Policy, LMGA, the position will be responsible for development, direction, and management of Lockheed Martin Government Affairs’ (LMGA) strategic initiatives, including external engagement and strategic messaging on priority issues central to Lockheed Martin strategic interests.
Additional core duties include the following:
• Continually develop, manage, and coordinate the corporation’s strategic involvement with key third parties to advance LM’s and the defense industry’s overall priorities. Third parties are defined as including but not limited to think tanks, policy experts, influencers, advocacy organizations (non-trade), FFRDCs and non-governmental organizations.
• LM Corporate Lead for all Think Tank relationships.
• Develop and maintain a robust internal synchronization forum that facilities high-volume, high-quality, strategically framed interactions among third Parties and all LM internal organizations (LMGA, Business Areas, Communications, and other Corporate Functions, as appropriate)
• In coordination with LMGA mission and functional teams, maintain a comprehensive outreach database. In coordination with LM Comms and LMGA Campaign and Pillar leads, ensure this critical outreach audience remains informed, in tailored fashion, in ways that support LM strategic messaging.
• Develop and manage LMGA “strategic advocacy campaigns,” as directed.
• Identify analytic, study, report, panel, and hosting requirements that can be facilitated by 3rd parties, and work across LM to ensure strategic coherence and source funding to support Strategic Advocacy goals.
• Build and manage the annual LMGA strategic advocacy budget.
• In coordination with LMGA teams, LM Business Areas, Communications and other Corporate Functions as appropriate, identify, develop, and manage opportunities for and assist with strategic campaigns, narrative development of related messaging for use with and through third parties, government partners, and media outlets.
• Develop and oversee engagement opportunities with key third parties.
• Represent LM and support senior LM management participation in key external third party events.
• Engage as needed with DoD leaders (OSD, Service, Joint Staff) in support of strategic interests.
• Coordinate and matrixed support with LM Communications and LMGA legislative affairs and mission teams to ensure alignment and effectiveness of messaging and outreach on key campaign and programs.
• Ensure strategic campaign goals are synchronized and optimized with LMGA Communications
This position is primarily onsite in Arlington, Va. with limited telework opportunities.

Basic Qualifications:
• Demonstrated ability to excel in Strategic Engagement and Advocacy
• Relationships with senior government leaders and with key researchers, and policy and capabilities experts from both political parties.
• Advanced understanding of DoD, the aerospace & defense industry, technological innovation, and national security-related issues.
• Advanced understanding and relationships with think tank and policy environment
• Executive Communications experience with emphasis on writing ability and analytics (previous experience as senior policy maker, academia, journalism, or law)
• Experience working in either a think tank or trade association
• Significant leadership experience
• Ability to obtain a TS Security clearance
• Recent USG experience
• Min 12 years direct related experience
Desired skills are additional skills that are nice to have and help narrow down a qualified candidate pool.
• Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
