• Lockheed Martin is looking for Summer Interns! Candidates will assist Mechanical Engineering in support of the Engineering & Technology organization.

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern assigned to the Westford facility, your mission will be to support all facets of the RF Product Life Cycle, including design, integration, verification, and production support activities. We design and build complex electronic systems for use in missile applications and other harsh military environments. You will be supporting the multifaceted product designs, fixturing and test sets that are built and maintained at either our Chelmsford or Westford site. We offer an excellent working environment with a mix of cutting-edge design, genuine hands-on production and laboratory testing as well as product development. The Locale:
• Chelmsford/Westford, Massachusetts is a charming suburb of Boston located about 30 miles northwest of that city. Chelmsford/Westford is close to historic Lowell Massachusetts and to Nashua, New Hampshire. Chelmsford/Westford is within reach of New Hampshire’s White Mountains and awesome ski areas to the north, and the scenic coastal towns of MA and NH are about an hour east. This scenic colonial region offers lots of New England charm, great schools, shopping, and restaurants. Chelmsford/Westford and the region share an impressive past from the early days after the pilgrims arrived in Plymouth to the revolutionary war. Where can you get to from Chelmsford/Westford? Both locations are about 90 minutes from Cape Cod. Boston is about 30 minutes to the east without traffic. New York City is about 4.5 hours away from Chelmsford/Westford. Waterville Valley and other major ski resorts of New Hampshire and Vermont are about 2 to 3 hours to the north.
• It should be noted that Chelmsford/Westford, Massachusetts is approximately 35 miles northwest of the Boston metropolitan area and offers better access to a wide range of substantially more affordable regions in the area to live. Those regions include Northeastern and North Central Massachusetts, and Southern, New Hampshire.
Basic Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor or Master’s program pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Ability to obtain and maintain secret security clearance; interim required to start.
Desired Skills:
• Experience and/or coursework in Mechanical Design Engineering. Experience with 3D CAD tools and specifically with Creo is preferred. Willing to work in a hands-on environment performing assembly, test, and measurement in addition to documentation.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
