The Deterrence portfolio within the Strike, Deterrence, and Missile Defense (SDMD) Mission Strategy and Advanced Capabilities (MSAC) at Lockheed Martin Space is looking for a mid-career individual contributor to join the team in Washington, DC as a Navy Deterrence Business Development Analyst.
Navy Deterrence is experiencing significant growth domestically and internationally, and we need your expertise to deliver amazing new technologies to our mission partners while maintaining the technical requirements of the strategic deterrence portfolio. You will use your expertise specifically in Navy Deterrence to build on the history and success of this unique portfolio by identifying or creating new sources of value for our nation, allies, and partners.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Proactive engagement with customers, industry partners, and program leadership to identify, qualify, and shape new business opportunities for growth in core and adjacent markets.
• Build and maintain customer relationships as an on-site liaison to oversee project coordination and strategic program management.
• Creating customer contact plan that drives long range growth pipeline business.
• Provide clear feedback loops with a partner-first, OneLM mindset.
• Driving and supporting the development of business cases in support of individual opportunities, to ensure new business meets financial targets.
• Support development and execution of Keep Sold plans for ongoing programs.
• Collaborating with other functionals within Lockheed Martin e.g. LMGA, Communications, Engineering & Technology, Finance, Contracts, LMUK, Legal, Program Management to ensure the accomplishment of opportunity- and strategy-related milestones.
• Foster the integration & collaboration across Space and/or Lockheed Martin Business Areas in adjacent missions areas.
• Researching and organizing competitive intelligence, including organizing and participating in Black Hat competitive assessments, and leading or supporting position-to-win (PTW) efforts.
• Participating in, and often leading, proposal development efforts in support of capturing new business; includes writing or contributing to sources sought responses, proposal volumes and participating in proposal-related milestones and color teams
Basic Qualifications:
• Experience coordinating between customer requirements/needs and technology organizations
• Experience in one or more of the following areas: program management, capture management, business development, and/or project management
• Interim Top Secret clearance required prior to start. Must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
Desired Skills:
• Demonstrated ability to form and maintain successful relationships with program and customer leadership
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field (e.g. engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science) or a Bachelor's degree or higher with extensive operational experience/military strategy development.
• Diplomatic, persuasive and articulate communication style to establish and maintain rapport with internal and external senior executives
• Greater than 8 years of combined defense industry, US military, and DoD experience
• Past experience with Sea-Based Strategic Deterrent and Strategic Weapon System (SWS) modernization
• Detailed understanding of US and UK deployed and development systems
• Knowledge or experience with the Navy Deterrence stakeholders or congressional advocates of deterrence modernization
• Established and demonstrated internal and external relationships within the FBM Program at Lockheed Martin, as well as with US Navy deterrence stakeholders to include experience with senior leader Navy SSP customers
• Master’s degree from an accredited college
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $105,000 - $201,100. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
