Description:Lockheed Martin RMS is seeking a full-time 2025 summer Hardware Engineering intern.
In this role, you will work on the Trident Hardware Engineering team responsible hardware design and test in support of the Trident Submarine Navigation program. The role will involve learning about hardware design, integration, and test. You will also participate in the development of enhancements for the next generation Trident navigation system.
The successful candidate will be a college sophomore and junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Hardware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education. The candidate will have academic or professional experience using AutoCAD or CREO. The candidate should be familiar analog, digital, and power supply circuit design. The candidate must have basic knowledge of processor design and architecture.
Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. This intern position is 100% on-site at Lockheed Martin Mitchel Field, NY.
Basic Qualifications:
• College sophomore and junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Hardware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Academic or professional experience using AutoCAD or CREO.
• Academic or professional experience with analog, digital, and power supply design.
• Academic or professional experience with processor design and architecture.
• Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Desired Skills:
• Basic knowledge of full system development life-cycle development (requirements, design, test, integration & test, delivery) of estimation and control theory including Kalman filtering and smoothing.
• Basic knowledge of systems engineering - with system and component specifications, understanding of requirement flow-down, allocation, validation and verification processes.
• Academic or Professional experience with Windows & Unix/Linux, including shell scripting.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $20,904 - $61,672. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
Pay Rate:
