As a member of Lockheed Martin’s Quality team, your efforts will be an integral part to ensuring that our delivered product meets this requirement.

Applies quality principles in the areas of: design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation, program performance, reliability, inventory control, and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality for make and/or buy products. The role of the Assistant Engineer may include any of the following tasks:
-Performs technical evaluations including product requirements, specifications, models/designs, drawings and procedures.
-Collaborates with program management, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and customers on quality related issues to ensure quality standards are in place.
-Interface with Government Quality representatives, customers, and external partners.
-Engages in product failure investigations, material review board decisions and corrective/preventive action. Ensures corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and/or are compliant with requirements.
-Assures conformance to program unique requirements, Lockheed Martin RMS policies & procedures, and industry standards.
-Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts product quality tests, performs statistical analysis to assess products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
-Attends meetings, leads and participates in team assignments, special projects, and Continuous Improvement events.
-Supports development of System and CI (configuration item) requirements & detailed designs
including System, Software, Hardware and documentation (operational & test).
-Witnesses Tests and verifies dry runs and formal tests.
-Conduct/coordinate process and product evaluations and assessments.
-Supports collection and analysis of measurements.
-Performs audits and reviews objective evidence (both internal and external (vendor, subcontractors)).
-Verifies product baselines including hardware and end-item software media.
-Reviews purchase orders, insuring contractual requirement flow down to vendors and
subcontractors.
-Strong oral and written communication skills, analytical and organization skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple complex tasks effectively.
-Travel as necessary to support program/operational needs.
Basic Qualifications:
-Technical Degree, degree in related field and/or equivalent experience
-Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
-Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance

-Production & Inspection experience a plus
-Audit/Process review experience and understanding of audit techniques.
-Previous experience working directly with, or in direct support of, Quality Assurance
-Experience with control and disposition of non-conforming Material (Material Review Board)
-Strong familiarity with Production Operations
-Experience with use of inspection gages and measuring equipment
-Knowledge of data analytics / statistics with ability to perform under minimal guidance
-Capable of performing root cause/corrective action analysis and identifying solutions to complex problems.
-Understanding of Tableau, Pareto Analysis and Statistical Process Control
-SAP/ERP and SharePoint experience.
-Knowledge/experience with AS9001 and/or T9001B requirements
-Knowledge/experience with IPC-A-610, 620, J-STD
-Familiarity with production planning/specifications, drawing/blueprint reading, and use of calibrated inspection equipment
-Ability to interpret drawings and specifications
-Previous experience in the defense industry
-Previous experience interfacing with the government (i.e DCMA/PMO/Navy, etc)
-Ability to travel to vendors to support audits and source inspections
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
