Chapter Next is a 12-16 week paid returnship hosted by RMS. Candidates who have taken an employment hiatus for at least 1+ years will be eligible to apply to this program.
During this returnship participants will become part of a community of similarly experienced professionals with challenging work scopes that contribute to the great innovation produced by Lockheed Martin. Selected candidates will be exposed to comprehensive training,
professional development opportunities, networking
opportunities, and individual based mentoring.
Our goal is to provide the fundamental tools needed to be successful in your career field, and to potentially prepare you for an opportunity to join Lockheed Martin full-time. Fields of focus will be diverse across the program and include functional and technical opportunities.
This returnship position is for a Mechanical Engineer working in the Electrical Engineering Organization in Stratford CT.
The selected individual will contribute to the organization by creating/enhancing Sikorsky Product Designs of Electrical Equipment and Harnesses. In this position you will participate in the Basic Data and Detail Design phases of product development with 3D CAD models and drawings to support production aircraft. Assignments will be in a cross-functional team environment encompassing a full range of product/project engineering activities.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Basic Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) skills
- 3D CAD experience. Specifically CATIA or Solidworks
- Must be a US Citizen
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of Sikorsky or Lockheed Aerospace systems
- Experience in aerospace engineering or manufacturing
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
