Join Lockheed Martin’s Flight Controls and Autonomy team that is currently seeking highly motivated technology pioneers with a desire to steer and lead the Autonomy industry. THE WORK
Serve as the algorithm authority with up-to-date knowledge on modern AI/ML research and be involved in the end to end process, from the inception of ideas to delivery and maintenance of a solution.
Focus on development of technologies that enable artificial intelligence and machine learning to be used in the Training and Logistics domain.
Develop end-to-end AI/ML pipelines necessary to transform existing applications and business processes into modern, extensive systems.
Optimizes the performance of AI algorithms, applications, and platforms.
Interface with other multi-disciplinary teams involved the development lifecycle.
Team’s technical areas of emphasis include Fly-By-Wire Flight Control Systems, Guidance/Navigation & Control (GNC), Flight Test, Autonomy, Aviation Robotics, Perception, AI/ML, and Motion Planning.
Engineer will be responsible for the design, analysis, optimization, lab testing and system level integration of hardware, firmware, and software. Provide design and review of electrical circuit diagrams, board layouts and configurations. Perform the development, review, integration, and test of software and firmware to be deployed on UAS systems, including navigation, control systems, communications, perception, and autonomous capabilities. Design, review, and support testing of manufactured boards in RMS lab facility, including integration with peripheral equipment including motor controllers, power regulation systems, battery control, and sensors.

Basic Qualifications:
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
8+ years of experience in embedded software development.

Deep expertise in C, C++, and Python programming languages.
Extensive experience in real-time embedded software development and firmware integration.
Proven track record of working in safety-critical systems (e.g., medical devices, aerospace, automotive).
Experience in regulated, safety-critical environments (e.g., FAA, FDA).
Hands-on experience with GPU and FPGA implementations.
Expertise in designing and implementing fault-tolerant systems.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
Desired Skills:
• Familiarity with team SW development process and tools
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Commitment to mentoring and team development
• Familiarity to debug hardware issues
Familiarity with Agile development process.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
