Ship Integration and Test Installation and Combat System Installation Engineer:

Waterfront Installation Engineer at repair shipyards overseeing installation of ACB12/16 Combat System upgrades during Aegis Modernization and PSA availabilities on US AEGIS DDG and CG Class ships.

Responsible for reviewing detail design drawings, conducting installation inspections of the AEGIS CG-47 and DDG-51 Class Ship combat systems equipment and related support systems equipment.

Provide assistance/resolution to Engineering, Detail Design, and Field Engineering Groups (Lockheed Martin, Government, and Government Contractors) related to equipment installation and design issues.

Troubleshoots technical problems and issues, determines technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommends actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solution.

Liaise with CG & DDG Planning Yards on development of Combat System Technical Data Packages.

Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations.

Assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications. Conducts technical training and product briefing with customers, vendors and company representatives.

Witness the shipboard load-outs of combat systems equipment.

Conduct inspections of combat system equipment and cabling during installation to identify problems and provide solutions.

Participate in design reviews and provide installation and operational support for the Combat System Support Equipment (e.g., demineralized cooling water, chilled water, sea water, electronic dry air, PAO, 400Hz, etc.).

Install equipment ORDALT upgrades and remove products ensuring coordinative engineering field change completion on AEGIS Weapon System.

Acts as local on-site representative to customer's organization.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Position requires up to 40% temporary and extended duty travel to Moorestown, NJ; Norfolk, VA / San Diego, CA; Mayport, FL; Bath, ME; Pascagoula, MS; Pearl Harbor, HI; Yokosuka, Japan.

This position requires shift work, brief at-sea periods and periodic travel supporting fleet emergent requirements and equipment installation events and issues. The position will require working flex hours, overtime, and on occasion weekends and holidays.
US Citizenship is required.
Basic Qualifications:
• This position requires up to 50% travel per year.

• Minimum 2 years' experience in design, integration, and/or installation engineering with knowledge of CG 47, DDG 51, and/or FMS Aegis or other USN surface ship combat system equipment and land site simulators.

• Knowledge of Military Specifications and Standards related to bonding and grounding of equipment on Navy Ships, MIL-STD-1310, MIL –STD-1399, MIL-STD-901D (shock), and ship cooling systems/components.

• Familiarity with the US Navy Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM) and NAVSEA Technical Specification 9090-310 - Ship Alteration Accomplishment by Installation Teams

• Familiarity with the latest applicable Military Specifications for electrical and optical cable, connector, backshell, and system design, integration, and integrity testing

• Position requires good verbal and written communication skills, strong initiative characteristics, and exceptional teaming skills. Position requires ability to work in a diverse corporate/cultural team environment. Candidate will interface daily with NSWC-PHD, MDA, PEO IWS, Shipyards, State and local safety officials, Regional Maintenance Centers, and USN Ships’ force

• Candidate must have a final DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to starting this position. US Citizenship is required.
Desired Skills:
• BS in Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering preferred

• Preferred Knowledge of interface protocols, system design criteria, equipment interactions, major signal flows, and USN Shipbuilding Specifications. Ability to read and comprehend production drawings. Ability to read and comprehend military specifications for electrical and optical cable, connectors and backshells, and system design, integration and integrity testing

• Prior experience with Alteration Installation Team (AIT) installation and/or testing of BMD 3.6 and 4.0 upgrades on Aegis CG and DDG class ships

• Prior experience as an installation engineer in ship repair facilities or equivalent industrial environments

• Prior experience with equipment engineering change installation (Field Changes, Engineering Changes, ORDALTs, SHIPALTs, Field Modification Bulletins)

• Prior operational experience in the Aegis fleet. Experience with Cable (both copper and fiber) fabrication and testing

• Experience with soldering and wire wrap techniques

• Certifications a plus

• Experience in one or more of the following Aegis systems: SPY-1 Radar, MK 99 FCS, MMSP, BSP, and WDRC

• Experience with ship support systems (HP/LP Air, dry air, 400Hz SSFC Systems, CND/SPY/Sonar Cooling Systems)

• Experience with providing technical leadership and working in a multi-organization team to accomplish a common goal

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: Non- standard 40 hour work week as assigned by leader
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $58,200 - $111,600 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $67,000 - $126,100. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
