Job Responsibilities
Description:PERFORMS SUCH TYPICAL DISTINGUISHING DUTIES AS:
Performs the final flight line servicing, checkout, trouble shooting, repairing and maintenance of completed aircraft electrical and instrument systems, related lines and accessories prior to, during and after flight, and sells off entire functional systems, accessories and components for airworthiness and conformance to Company and customer requirements; operates, trouble shoots and makes final adjustments to entire electrical diagnosing and correcting any malfunctioning revealed by such operational checkout while such systems are operating under auxiliary power or power instrument systems, accessories and components to authorized Company and/or customer personnel.
Determines method and sequence of operations, lays out, fabricates, installs, troubleshoots, repairs, calibrates, maintains, and performs the final operational checkout of entire instrument and instrumentation systems and subsystems in laboratory conditions, or on aircraft, prior to, during and subsequent to flight test, working with engineering on static tests, functional tests, and research and development of aircraft systems and components for stock, production and flight test, where engineering information is not complete, operational sequences change or vary considerably, and it is required to exercise a complete knowledge of aircraft instrumentation systems, subsystems, and related ground support equipment, of test equipment such FM discriminator, oscilloscope, multimeter, function generator, frequency counter, Time Domain Reflectometer and other specialized instrumentation checkout equipment, of recording systems such as digital pulse code modulation data acquisition and FM - PCM analog data acquisition, and of transducers and related layout, fabrication and installation procedures; utilizes a knowledge of aircraft electrical systems, structures , power plants and functional systems so as to insure aircraft airworthiness and conformance to engineering flight test requirements; sets up, operates and maintains ground support stations for tests and pre/post flight calibrations and checkout; makes or recommends changes in equipment in order to improve or increase the scope of tests and analysis as required; sells off instrumentation systems and subsystems as ready for flight or test.
Accompanies ship on production and/or acceptance flights as assigned, operates electrical and instrument systems, and makes required in-flight adjustments and corrections.
Installs shortages; incorporates design or modification changes to ship’s electrical and instrument systems, lines, and related accessories; makes adjustments, calibrations, alterations, repairs, corrections, and replacements as required.
Swings ship on compass rose to determine compass errors and compensates or adjusts as required.
Trouble shoots malfunctioning instrument systems where it is required to locate, diagnose and correct trouble in related lines and accessories having different actuating principles such as electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic, etc.
Prepares and/or maintains aircraft for flight, inactive or storage status in accordance with applicable specifications.
Prepares instrumentation systems, subsystems, equipment, and components for flight according to applicable pre/post flight test procedures.
Performs fault isolation, repair, and checkout of digital and FM - PCM analog equipment.
Repairs and modifies printed circuit boards using certified soldering techniques.
Fabricates, installs, and checks out flight test electrical wire harnesses.
Incorporates design or modification changes to aircraft’s electrical, electronic, and mechanical instrumentation systems by making mechanical or system alterations to locate and install such equipment as required. Fabricates parts as required.

Basic Qualifications:
This occupation requires a broad and extensive knowledge and experience in flight line skills.
To be considered for this occupation:
Must have a minimum of four years’ experience in aircraft electrical and electronic installation and electrical checkout or as a Flight Electrical and Instrument Mechanic.
AND
Be able to demonstrate a knowledge, skillset, or have completed training in the following job skills:
1. Complete level blueprint, technical data and data model comprehension, electrical schematics, electrical diagrams, and systems diagrams
2. Electrical and electronic systems troubleshooting and checkout.
3. Principles of operation of electrical systems.
4. Principles of operation of instrument systems.
5. Familiarization in operation of ground support equipment.
6. Basic computer operations

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

The base range for this position in California $28.48 - $48.29.
