You will be the Data scientist for the Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) in Orlando.
What You Will Be Doing
This role is meant to support the Modeling and Simulation team at Production Operations (MFC) in Orlando, FL.
• As the Data Scientist, you will be responsible for
Performing research and/or product development encompassing multiple engineering disciplines, such as electronics, electrical, mechanical, and/or chemical.

Basic Qualifications:
1. Statistical Analysis & Inference
o Proficient in hypothesis testing, regression models, ANOVA, time-series forecasting, and probability theory.
2. Machine Learning & Predictive Modeling, Python/R, SQL/NoSQL
o Experience with supervised and unsupervised learning models, including random forests, SVMs, XGBoost, and artificial neural networks (ANNs).
o Python/R: Strong coding ability for data manipulation, model development, and visualization. RStudio and R ecosystem. Python libraries: pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, etc
o Advanced SQL querying, stored procedures, and familiarity with NoSQL databases like MongoDB for handling semi-structured data.
3. Data Engineering & ETL Pipelines
o Demonstrated ability to build scalable pipelines using tools like Apache Airflow, Spark, or custom scripts for cleaning, evaluating, and transforming large datasets.
4. Cloud, Tools & Frameworks
o Experience deploying solutions on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Some familiarity with services such as S3, Redshift, BigQuery, and ML platforms.
o Familiarity with Hadoop, Spark, Databricks, and cloud-native analytics tools (AWS Glue, Azure Data Lake, etc.)
o Familiarity with Git, Jira, and agile methodologies to work in cross-functional engineering and R&D teams.
o Advanced Excel & VBA: proficient with complex formulas, pivot tables, macros, and integration with external data sources.
o Visualization/Dashboards: Strong storytelling and dashboard-building skills using Power BI, Tableau, or Plotly/Dash.
o Simulation: Familiarity with Simio for discrete-event simulation (DES).
o Simulation: Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink for simulating aerospace manufacturing processes.
Must have ability to obtain Secret Security clearance, therefore must be a US Citizen.
Desired Skills:
o Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes, quality control standards / FAA regs, supply chain logistics, part traceability.
o SPC/Lean/Six Sigma: Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, control charts, and process optimization using DMAIC framework.
o RCA and FMEA: Expertise in identifying, modeling, and predicting failure points in aerospace systems.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
