We are seeking an experienced and skilled Aircraft Maintenance Sr Manager to lead our team of maintenance professionals in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our aircraft fleet. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the maintenance activities, developing, and implementing maintenance procedures, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
F-35 Aircraft Maintenance Sr Manager assigned to NAS Patuxent River’s F-35 Integrated Test Force (ITF). Provides full spectrum leadership to the ITF’s Maintenance department salary and represented personnel deployed to NAS Patuxent River. Scope of responsibilities include delivering comprehensive aircraft maintenance planning for F-35 aircraft and support equipment. Manages general services, repairs, and overhaul of aircraft to ensure that aircraft are in good mechanical condition and safe for flight.

Provides close coordination directly with the Site Director for all maintenance activities associated with the leadership and management of personnel and resources. Specifically, this includes providing technical direction, cost & schedule management, Cross-Integrated Project Team coordination & integration, and personnel actions such as performance appraisals, employee training, employee recruitment, staffing, recognition, and disciplinary actions for both salaried and hourly personnel.

The selected candidate will be integral to test planning and coordination with Test Operations, Flight Operations, Air Vehicle Engineering, Logistics, Safety, Quality & Mission Success, Government Flight Representative/Aviation Performance Team and NAS Patuxent River base agencies. The selected candidate will provide technical directions for the Maintenance department while serving on the ITF’s Test Readiness Review Board (TRRB) and Engineering Review Board (ERB). Candidate will support future F-35 ITF contract negotiations, manage maintenance budgets, forecasts, and schedules, and Earned Value Management discussions. Candidate must be able to deploy to remote locations to include supporting US & Partner Nation Naval Shipboard operations in support of F-35B/C flight test.
Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. The position will support Special Access Programs.

A level 6 employee Typically has 20 - 30+ years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:
• Recent Fighter Aircraft Maintenance experience (F-35, F-22, F-16, F-15, or F-18)
• Minimum 15 years of experience in aircraft maintenance with at least 10 years in leadership or management role
• Recent flight line and intermediate aircraft maintenance experience
• Recent experience in modification and test of aircraft and associated systems.
• Experience drafting Aircraft Ground Operations Procedures and Aviation Safety programs.
• Must be able to deploy to remote locations to include supporting shipboard operations.
• Proven experience in leading and managing teams, with a focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• DCMA Instruction 8210.1C (or later) familiarity
• Recent Earned Value Management (EVM) Experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to attain a Top-Secret security clearance
Desired Skills:
• F-35 aircraft maintenance experience preferred.
• Quality Assurance experience
• 5th Gen flight test experience
• DCMA Instruction 8210.1C (or later) proficiency
• Experience managing in a Union environment.
• Experience with Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Aviation, or a related field
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $118,400 - $208,610. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
