THE WORK
Candidate determines the most efficient and economical method of supporting system level administration across a dynamic production environment.
We are seeking a highly proficient Linux System Administrator to support our large-scale manufacturing engineering operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Linux-based systems, including managing server deployments, network infrastructure, and RF equipment. A strong understanding of programming languages such as Shell/Bash, C, and Python is essential for automating processes and troubleshooting. The role requires familiarity with manufacturing operations and the ability to integrate IT systems into complex industrial environments. Experience with server provisioning, monitoring, and maintenance is crucial. A deep understanding of network engineering principles and RF technologies is required to ensure optimal connectivity and communication with various manufacturing groups. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless IT operations across the company’s manufacturing systems.

You are a Linux System Administrator who possesses a deep understanding of Linux-based systems, network engineering principles, and programming languages, with a strong background in supporting large-scale manufacturing engineering operations. You have a strong technical foundation, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless IT operations and drive project success in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
A level 3 employee is Mid-Career and we are seeking candidates who have around 8+ years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor or Associates of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, or equivalent
• Experience in a manufacturing test engineering environment
• Highly proficient with Linux Administrative tasks
• High proficiency in Network Engineering and server based network configurations
• Ability to run server and machine based automated jobs
• Support license deployment on Linux and Windows machines
• Experience with programming languages like C, Batch, Shell, Python, etc.
• Ability to build Windows and Linux servers
• Support system level testing within RMS operations via hardware and software
• Utilize Linux OS to control system level test infrastructure

Desired Skills:
• MSci or MEng in an engineering or technical discipline related to Linux/Windows System Admin
• 5+ years of experience as a lead Linux System Administrator
• Experience with Configuration Management tools like Github, Gitlab, or Rational Clearcase
• Proficiency with encryption techniques (ssh keys, ppk, etc)
• Experience with System level design and troubleshooting
• Experience with RF and microwave equipment and products (Analyzers, DMMs, Scopes, etc)
• Experience with production operations and manufacturing environments
• Background with test automation and analysis software
• Able to take on leadership roles and manage test projects efficiently

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
