Lockheed Martin is looking for an energetic and high performing Staff Electrical Systems Engineer to join the Navigation Systems (NAVSYS) team in Denver, Colorado.
In this role you will:
• Perform electrical performance and integration, power modeling, channelization/electrical interconnect management, interface compatibility analysis, and manage electrical subsystem designs to ensure compliance with the spacecraft level technical baseline, maintaining end-to-end compatibility, functional allocations, and margins
• Perform verification and validation flow for key system level electrical requirements
• Perform risk mitigation activities for complex interfaces to ensure a smooth integration at the system level
• Collaborate with and support Flight Software, Integration & Test (I&T), and subsystem RSEs during assembly, integration, test phases, and launch of the space vehicle, including leading or supporting anomaly investigations as appropriate
• Analyze and troubleshoot spacecraft design, command and control and mission data processing
• Foster communication and coordinate technical changes between subsystems including EPS, C&DH, Propulsion, Mechanical, Thermal, GN&C, Mechanisms, Communications, Software, and Payloads
• Support Subsystem Responsible Systems Engineers (RSE) and the Space Vehicle RSE, the technical advocate for the satellite throughout its lifecycle, from requirements definition through mission operations; the RSE verifies that the satellite aligns with both Command Media and program technical requirements, and resists inappropriate compromise and risk, checks programmatic decisions, and balances technical performance, cost, schedule, and risk, while ensuring mission success
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Math, Physics or other related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Experience coordinating with multiple engineering functions (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Flight Sciences, Materials, Manufacturing, Test, etc.)
• Space segment design and/or test experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members
• Willingness to travel for launch campaigns
• U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
Desired Skills:
• Electrical Systems Engineering (ESE) and integration experience
• Experience with telemetry systems, flight operations, and/or electrical design
• 9+ years' engineering experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, synergetic team environment
• Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker with the ability to select and apply appropriate systems thinking skills to solve problems and implement constructive change
• Integrating flight software and databases
• Creating/modifying system design artifacts per the requirements baseline
• Technical understanding of the assigned product, accepting responsibility and accountability, and exercising authority including stopping production, test, or a launch
• A problem-solver with strong skills in decision-making (related to cost, schedule, technical and risk), and closure (dedication to close open items/issues) to ensure mission success
• Good facilitator and able to lead resolution of issues
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex design information, technical decisions and issues to both highly technical and non-technical reviewers.
• Ability to analyze data from spacecraft subsystem providers (e.g. bus, payload) and demonstrate compatibility, assess requirements compliance, identify and resolve risks, and implement opportunities for improved solutions vs. system requirements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members, leadership, and customers
• Relevant Masters Degree or relevant Graduate Certificate
• DoD Secret security clearance

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
