Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance: Harnessing the Power of data collection and analysis
across air, land, sea and space, thousands of sensors onboard manned and unmanned military platforms are collecting huge amounts of data. These ISR systems task, collect, process, analyze, fuse and disseminate the most mission-critical information.
Oversee the design, development, documentation, and testing of software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment.
You will work directly with domain and industry experts and technical staff that design and Manages software development activities
Who You Are:
As part of the Signals Reconnaissance Team the selected candidate will be the Software Development Lead, leading approximately 15 direct reports and overseeing approximately 50 software engineers on multiple projects within the Signals Reconnaissance products.
The Work:
* Ensuring the organization's staff is meeting all program and business commitments and to work with the Program Leadership team to drive Program Execution.
* Managing the staffing and resource allocation within the software domain. This includes recruiting and hiring candidates.
* Conducting performance evaluations, promotions, and career planning activities.
* Maintaining/updating Software Development Plans and Software SOPs. Ensuring that the Software team understands and follows plans and procedures.
* Guiding/mentoring the team on how to do conduct business with our customers, defining processes, and improving when needed with a continuous process improvement mindset.
* Gathering, analyzing, and using software and EVM metrics in waterfall, agile, and hybrid “wagile” program executions.
* Creating SW development schedules in coordination with project engineers and ensure the team executes to the schedule.
* Cultivating and growing the Software Organization.
* Interfacing w/ Program Management, CAMs, Project Engineers, other discipline leaders, and customers over priorities, milestones and deliveries.
* Preparing Software Estimating through BOEs.
* Inserting Digital Transformation initiatives into software development execution (DevSecOps, Software Factory, Agile, Automated Test).

Basic Qualifications:
- Demonstrated leadership skills and behaviors that align with the Full Spectrum Leadership Imperatives.
- Experience with planning and coordinating software development in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledgeable in Software Engineering Process and Tools, including experience in executing in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Experience across the Software Development Life Cycle including a minimum of 10 years of direct software development experience, preferably in C++, Java.
- Knowledge of LM and program processes and procedures
- Experience with software estimating tools, metrics identification and collection
Desired Skills:
- AF DCGS familiarity/experience
- Previous Functional Manager responsibilities.
- Direct experience performing L-Coded responsibilities over a team of at least 10 people.
- Experience with airborne ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance), SIGINT (Signals Intelligence) and/or tactical data link processing
- DevSecOps tools such as Eyesight, Jenkins, Git/GitLab/BitBucket, JIRA and Confluence
- Familiarity with virtualization, containerization, and microservice architectures/technologies.
- Experience with Software Development Lifecycles in a DOD environment
- Experience in Planning – Staff, tools (SW Dev tools), maintaining Software Development Plan (SDP)
- Knowledgeable of practices, artifacts (Unified Modeling Language (UML) diagrams, requirement database), documentation, Software Requirements Specification (SRS), Interface Requirements Specification (IRS), interface Control Document(ICD), Software Design Document(SDD), IDD, DBDD
- Knowledgeable of Operations and Maintenance (O&M) – practices such as break/fix and enhancements to customers, tracking Problem Reports to closure, CM
- Understand Software Metrics (SLOC, Defects, Productivity)– gathering, analyzing, and using
- Experience with Software Scheduling and Microsoft Project

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $123,500 - $236,800. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
