The Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) Hardware Group is made up of enthusiastic and talented individuals that oversee the design and production of the hardware sensors and actuators for GNC subsystems, both missiles and spacecraft. Are you willing to join this team and help solve these challenges in a team environment using your academic background and experience?

This role is specifically for a "willing to learn" delegate Hardware component engineer for the NGI program that will evolve to support of other programs. Work will be commensurate with the ability to learn and take on more responsibilities. The candidate must be capable of learning about and then performing Material Review Boards, Failure Review Board, Critical Design Reviews, Qualification Review Boards, Design and testing oversight of hardware throughout the Enterprise. Focus will be on IMU/gyros, star trackers, GPSRs, sun sensors, and MTRs but could develop into other product areas. Willingness to obtain a Secret clearance is required.
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or other related engineering degree
• Interest in hardware products preferably IMU/gyros, star trackers, GPSRs, sun sensors, and MTRs as well as learning of GNC systems and operation
• Experience in hardware development, products or oversight of subcontractors
• Interest and willingness to learn about subcontractor hardware development, including build, test, and integration
• Willingness and ability to acquire a Secret clearance
Desired Skills:
• Possess an active S clearance or higher
• Experience delivering aerospace flight hardware
• Experience working with subcontractor hardware development, including build, test, and integration
• Experience with Spacecraft or Missile Controls and Dynamics
• Working knowledge of GNC Actuators and Sensors
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated good skills with the ability to articulate complex issues to peers, management, subcontractors and customers.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $76,600 - $146,800 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $88,100 - $166,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. About

The Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC) engineer at Lockheed Martin will have the opportunity to design, simulate and verify technologies such as missile autopilot, guidance algorithms, inertial target tracking, and Navigation algorithms using Kalman Filters for optimal estimation techniques. They will also have the opportunity to design, simulate and verify precision servo control and pointing algorithms for gimbaled seekers and other sensors as well as various actuators and mechanisms. Modelling and simulation of these systems is performed primarily in Matlab and C++.
