Lockheed Martin Space seeks a Strategic Planner III to join our team in Highlands Ranch, CO! This position will be a part of the LM Space Strategic Intelligence team within Enterprise Strategy. In this role you will develop and deliver actionable, decision-quality strategic insights, analysis, and planning that will serve to support the Space enterprise in strategy development and strategic decision making.

This position will provide critical market assessments to inform senior leadership on customer budget activity and market trends to drive product and investment strategy decisions. This position partners with teams across the enterprise to mature thinking and pressure test assumptions on economies, and strategies. We're looking for someone with a strong financial background who can understand complex technologies and has a business development mindset to drive growth and innovation.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


• Performing research and analysis on market sizing and customer budgets of current and potential future markets, both domestically and internationally

• Identifying financial trends and key disruptors within markets.

• Developing key messaging and strategy shaping for senior leaders on 10 yr strategic forecasts

• Digesting large amounts of data and generating succinct messaging to senior leadership on the implications of the analyzed data

• Collaborating with Corporate teams to ensure alignment between Corporate and Business Segment strategies

• Performing assessments and reports on key competitors, identifying critical information (both technical and financial) to drive business decision making.

• Identifying new capabilities and/or partnerships that can solve customer missions needs


Our level 3 employees typically have 5-10 years of experience.




Although this position does support some teleworking, the selected candidate will be located near our Highlands Ranch facility and be expected to work in the office as needed and as appropriate.


Basic Qualifications:
• 3-6 years of prior experience performing financial, statistical, and/or qualitative data analysis of markets and/or competitors within a business development or financial analysis role

• Understanding of financial processes surrounding orders, sales, EBIT, and cash forecasting, and/or proposals

• Market research experience and the ability to analyze large sets of data

• Experience with DoD / IC / NASA / NOAA / International budgeting, acquisition and contracting, and ability to translate insights into strategy

• Demonstrated experience working with executives and supporting related initiatives across multiple stakeholders

• Due to programs being supported, U.S. citizenship is required.
Desired Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to construct, gather, and analyze complex data sets and develop actionable recommendations

• Understanding of LM Space's customers, products, services markets, and operations.

• Strategy development or management consulting experience

• Experience with Data Visualization Tools & Dashboard Development (e.g., Tableau)

• Demonstrated LM Space Financial Planning & Analysis Experience (LRP, CSR, Key Investments)

• Proven ability to communicate verbally and in written format with Senior Executives and High- Level Customers

• Ability to work across organizational boundaries to ensure that program and company goals are achieved

• Ability to communicate both technical and/or financial concepts to senior leaders

• Ability to proactively build and align stakeholders, capabilities, and resources for getting things done quickly and achieving objectives in as fast-paced environment

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
