The RF Talent Center is looking for a Payload Systems Engineering Manager, who will lead the Payload Systems Engineers for communication subsystem program(s). This position is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of multiple communication subsystems to the program. The communication subsystem consists of digital, RF, and optical components and that collectively transmit mission information across a constellation of satellites.

The RF Talent Center Payload Systems Engineering Manager will:

• Lead the Payload Systems Engineering execution for the SDA program portfolio

• Own and manage all payload systems engineering work products including specifications/requirements, analyses and verification/test plans and strategies

• Own and manage Payload Systems Engineering schedule and ensure alignment with and support of the larger program development, delivery, and integration activities

• Actively coordinate and communicate across program leadership (Program Management, Chief Engineer and IPT leads)

• Create and maintain vision and direction for Payload Systems Engineering team

• Manage human capital plan for talent management, including manpower planning, knowledge sharing, career development, performance reviews, and training for team members

Successful candidates will typically have the following:
• 7+ years of technical experience in systems engineering performing design, integration, and test

• 4+ years of team leadership experience in either a technical or functional capacity.

• Ability to travel between our Lucent/Highlands Ranch, CO, and Waterton/Littleton, CO regularly. The team is distributed between these two locations.
Basic Qualifications:
• BS in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent experience.

• Technical experience in systems engineering performing design, integration, and testing.

Team leadership experience in either a technical or functional capacity.

Working knowledge or experience within the RF engineering discipline.

• Experience leading or acting as a major contributor in efforts to support major program milestones (i.e. design reviews, test readiness reviews, integration and delivery milestones)

• Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required.
Desired Skills:
• Experience/Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with customers, suppliers, management, and peers

• Experience working on Mission Assurance Class C/D Programs

• Demonstrated experience with delivering communication hardware or software systems for space applications

• Experience executing space-based networked constellation programs

• Familiarity with specifying, developing, testing, and delivering RF or Digital Hardware for space applications

• Proven experience in layered risk-reduction, opportunity-identification implementation, and execution to include compatibility testing

• Integrated Product Team (IPT) lead and/or Certified Principle Engineer (CPE) experience/training

• Cost Account Manager (CAM) training and/or experience

• Previous functional management experience

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $134,300 - $257,400. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
