What does this role look like?


Lockheed Martin Space seeks a Program Management Director to lead program execution across Space’s National Security Space Lines of Business. This is a Portfolio Director position responsible to lead multiple programs within the Enterprise Analytics Mission Area. This portfolio contains a dozen Mission critical programs providing enterprise integration for critical systems supporting the IC, and DoD, responsible for delivering tasking, reporting, exploitation, visualization, processing, data routing, and analytics in a multi-access, multi-customer environment. This role will be responsible to lead multiple programs of various size at various stages of the program lifecycle to deliver capability on cost and schedule. You will also be responsible to drive the growth of the portfolio and guide the program managers reporting to you to success.




In this role will offer you the following daily key responsibilities:



  • Overall responsibility for Programs (current & future phases) execution,

  • Teaching, training, and guiding PMs to successful program performance,

  • Responsible for P&L and LRP results within the portfolio,

  • Meet or exceed technical, schedule and financial commitments across the portfolio,

  • Partner with LM functional support to enable programs success,

  • Provide strategic leadership in the negotiation of contracts and contract changes,

  • Provide leadership support to all Strategy and growth efforts,

  • Executive interfacing with customer and mission partners,

  • Executive level briefings on program status,

  • Maintain/Improve Customer relationships and confidence.




This position does not support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in either:
Herndon, VA, or , King of Prussia/Valley Forge, PA and be expected to work in the office.
NOTE: If the position is located in Valley Forge, PA; >50% travel will be required.

Basic Qualifications:
To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:

• BS in a related technical field
• 15+ years of related technical and/or program management experience,
• 5+ years of demonstrated Program Management experience,
• Transformative leadership to drive efficiencies and technology advancements on programs,
• Demonstrated business acumen with history of delivering to cost and schedule commitments ,
• Prior experience as a Cost Account Manager (CAM) and/or Earned Value Management (EVM) experience,
• Demonstrated Full Spectrum Leadership capabilities and performance,
• You will need to be a US Citizen, and currently possess and be able to maintain a US DoD TOP SECRET clearance, and also be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD TOP SECRET / SCI clearanceto support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Desired Skills:
To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience leading a small or large portfolio of programs to success and growth,
• Strong executive presence and ability to influence customers to balance risk, cost, and schedule,
• Experience with DOD and IC Customers, Program Offices and Stakeholders,
• Prior experience in one or more of the following:
o Experience managing different contract types: Firm Fixed Price/ IDIQ / Customer directed level of effort (LOE) and go fast contracts
o Agile release software development
o Management of subcontractors
• Experience leading a team in a fast paced environment supporting multiple programs,
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and quickly adjust to changing priorities,
• Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with senior leadership, customers and stakeholders,
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail,
• Proven track record of establishing relationships with customers and other stakeholders.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
