Description:The coolest jobs on this planet… or any other… are with Lockheed Martin Space

“Space is a warfighting domain.” This isn't just a bumper sticker, it has become the foundation for the US and its allies in our approach to military space, and it is the bedrock upon which Lockheed Martin is developing tomorrow’s capability. The idea of warfighting in space was only a thing of science fiction in the past, but we are now preparing to defend space as the first front of the next war. To do this, Lockheed Martin is at the leading edge of new technologies, approaches, and capabilities.

As part of our new Mission Strategy portfolio organization, we need an experienced executive to lead the Lockheed Martin Space new business enterprise for the full gamut of space security missions. These missions include space control, resilience capabilities for space assets, space domain awareness, and space battlespace management command and control (BMC3). The Director/Portfolio Lead, Space Security will have responsibility for defining the company's strategies, aligning financial and talent resources, prioritizing opportunities, developing mission-unique technologies, engaging customer/stakeholder communities, and ultimately delivering new business for the company in this growth area. All future-looking mission capabilities are in this portfolio organization to empower the portfolio stakeholders with an end-to-end purview of the mission in close collaboration with lines of business (LOBs). You will partner closely with diverse LOBs, engineering technology, the new Product Innovation and Integration organization, finance, government affairs, and others to bring the best of the corporation to this role.

This role will offer you the following daily challenges:
• Accountability for $15B pipeline of opportunities in the US-domestic and international domains, with an average annual commitment to orders in excess of $2B
• Understanding and communicating a keen focus on the national security mission, especially relating to the range of space security missions
• Fostering and maintaining customer relationships, and regularly interfacing with them to shape and capture new business
• Developing cogent portfolio plans to strengthen LM successes in the mission area, expanding both domestically and internationally
• Leading all operations analysis (OA) and mission analysis tied to the space security mission across the organization, while developing increased sophistication of resources and modeling simulation capabilities
• Defining and overseeing implementation of mission-specific technology development programs tied to both Internal and Contracted Research Development activities (IRAD CRAD)
• Guiding capability delivery associated with R&D activities to meet mission and program requirements
• Prioritizing resources to achieve most effective path to growth
• Developing cross-functional teams efficiently against a variety of simultaneous activity
• Demonstrating thought leadership in the mission domain to both internal and government audiences
• Overseeing major capture efforts in excess of $100M, including proposal development, shaping activities, and position-to-win/price-to-win
• Communicating key growth strategies to senior executive audiences

We are looking for someone who demonstrates a meaningful executive presence, including direction of executives. You can come from a diverse educational background, but need to demonstrate synthesis of technical, mission, and business considerations. You should have the ability to engage audiences both internal to the company and externally on highly-specialized technologies and capabilities. In order to be successful in this role, you will have a demonstrated strategic mindset with ability to chart clear growth paths for the organization.
Basic Qualifications:
To be successful, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:

• Detailed familiarity with current USG development efforts around various elements of the space security mission set (i.e., space control, space domain awareness, resilience, space BMC2)
