Lockheed Martin is seeking an emerging authority Guidance, Navigation and Control Engineer with an active Secret clearance for a position in Grand Prairie, TX working with advanced missile systems.
What You Will Be Doing
Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced, Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer. Responsibilities include but are not limited to developing and analyzing GNC algorithms, Inertial Tracking / Target State Estimation algorithms, and Navigation algorithms using various simulations. The GNC Engineer must have experience designing closed-loop control systems and leveraging experience and previous work done on algorithms. The GNC Engineer will develop and test 6-DOF simulation models and algorithms. The GNC Engineer will contribute to the development and performance assessment of the Integrated Flight Simulation (IFS). The GNC Engineer must have C/C++ and MATLAB programming experience.

MFCE&T GNC
Basic Qualifications:
- Current TS Clearance with 5 year investigation
- Perform 6DOF simulation design and analysis
- Develop and analyze guidance, navigation and autopilot algorithms.
Desired Skills:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
- Design target tracking systems which generally include target state estimation and target/detection association.
- Demonstrate experience with optimal state estimation filters such as KALMAN and Extended KALMAN filter (EKF).
- Perform design and analyses of terrestrial navigation and navigation state error estimation.
- Contribute to the definition of an operational flight program (OFP) with integrated high fidelity 6DOF simulations.
- Support preflight system performance assessment and post flight verification analyses.
- Demonstrate strong math skills in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformation.
- Experience creating work products for SRR, SFR, PDR, or CDR milestones
- Willingness to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment to meet an aggressive schedule
- Organized individual with strong interpersonal relationship skills
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Top Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

About
The Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC) engineer at Lockheed Martin will have the opportunity to design, simulate and verify technologies such as missile autopilot, guidance algorithms, inertial target tracking, and Navigation algorithms using Kalman Filters for optimal estimation techniques. They will also have the opportunity to design, simulate and verify precision servo control and pointing algorithms for gimbaled seekers and other sensors as well as various actuators and mechanisms. Modelling and simulation of these systems is performed primarily in Matlab and C++.
