This position is for the Fort Worth Fluid / Mechanical manager and will report to the Utilities & Subsystems senior manager within the Vehicle Systems E&T organization. The selected candidate will manage a team of 20 – 25 engineers that executes engineering tasks for Fuel, Hydraulics Utility Actuation, and Fire Protection subsystems in support of multiple Lines of Business (LOB) – IFG, F-35 and/or ADP.
Responsibilities include:
• Responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical execution of existing development efforts within Fluid/Mechanical systems.
• Provide team leadership and oversight for the day-to-day operation of the Fluid/Mechanical engineering team, including coordination of required production and sustainment support.
• Support design reviews, engineering releases, and other formal and informal review efforts.
• Support pursuits of new business for the team and guide the planning and execution of that work, including the development of proposals with task descriptions, estimates of effort, and basis for those estimates.
• Help create and outline standard work practices, process, and structured knowledge continuity to grow a skilled workforce specializing in aircraft Fluid/Mechanical system support.
• Drive modernization efforts in Systems Engineering, helping to develop and execute the implementation of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) products and other Digital Transformation processes and tools like AMESIM modelling.
• Support personnel related activities for a team of engineers, including performance management, manpower staffing including forecasts, and personnel recognition.

Basic Qualifications:
• Engineering degree from an accredited college, equivalent experience/combined education considered.
• Working knowledge of aircraft system design and hardware qualification.
• Experience with systems engineering lifecycle & understanding of systems thinking skills and behaviors.
Desired Skills:
• Candidate should demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a proven ability to interact effectively and build strong relationships with customers, management, and peers.
• Familiarity with aircraft Fluid/Mechanical Systems.
• Prior Technical Lead or team leadership experience.
• Direct experience with staffing processes and VEMO toolset.
• Understanding of Functional Management responsibilities of people, processes and tools
• Strong presentation skills and ability to address complex matters and solutions with senior leadership.
• Experience with safety-of-flight qualification, airworthiness, flight certification and/or system safety.
• Problem investigation resolution and root cause analysis experience.
• Experience with project planning and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).
• Experience as a Cost Account Manager (CAM).

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
