Job Responsibilities
Description:As a key member of the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Digital Transformation organization, the Release Train Engineer will be a Servant Leader and Coach for the 3DX Agile Release Train. This highly visible role will coordinate, facilitate, and help to guide the constituent Agile Release Train (ART), IT Systems, and organizations toward productive outcomes. The Release Train Engineer (RTE) possesses a systems view of the entire development and delivery process. Working in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment, the Release Train Engineer will have the following responsibilities:
• Release Train Engineer leads the Agile cadence, ensuring participation from team members and key stakeholders across the ART.
• Leads multiple functional Agile teams, within the ART, from backlog grooming and planning activities through development, testing, and release deployment with responsibility for all aspects of a teams' productivity.
• Manage and optimize the flow of value through the “team of teams.”
• Establish and communicate calendars for sprints and deployments.
• Establish common reporting, metrics, and work management tools (JIRA) across teams.
• Facilitate Program Increment (PI) Planning readiness and execution.
• Assist in tracking the execution of features across teams Facilitate scaling meetings (scrum of scrum, product owner sync, overall retrospectives, solution demo’s)
• Help manage risks and dependencies; escalate and track impediments Encourage collaboration between teams.
• Coach leaders, teams, and scrum masters on Agile practices and mindsets
• Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency.
• Maintain visual progress metrics indicating velocity, burn-down, etc.
• Run retrospectives and drive the teams to implement the process improvements identified during those meetings.
• Collaborate with product and technology teams to ensure the product vision translates into a workable roadmap that is executable across the program.
• Publish PI brief/debrief communications that outline the business value, objectives, and goals targeted and achieved by the program.
• Oversee and ensure PI planning readiness product vision & roadmap, architectural runway, backlogs, business value assessments, and event logistics.
• Executes PI planning sessions on cadence.
• Manage, escalate, and drive resolution of program risks and dependencies with key stakeholders product ownership, product leadership, scrum teams, system teams and program stakeholders.
• Drive program-level data-driven continuous improvement through focused qualitative and quantitative retrospection.
• Coach and mentor the program and organizational Leaders on SAFe, Agile, Lean, and Scrum practices, principles, and mindsets to optimize the output of valuable working software.
• Serve as Release Train Engineer to the program, namely to scrum masters and product and technical leaders.
• Able and willing to coach and support any member or stakeholder related to the program.
• Foster Scaled Agile (e.g., SAFe) Communities of Practice to promote a culture of Lean-Agile continuous and relentless improvement.
Basic Qualifications:
• Experience with PLM Tools and Database structures
• Understanding of Aerospace Aircraft Development life cycle functions (Engineering, Prod Ops, Sustainment, etc…)
• Strategic Mindset
• Ability to develop multi-year plans/roadmaps with ROM estimates
Desired Skills:
• Familiar with ERP and MES systems
• Agile Development Process knowledge
• Knowledge of Aerospace System Engineering and Engineering Release Processes
• Excellent communications skills
• SAFe RTE Certification, SAFe Scrum Master Certification

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
