Job Responsibilities
Description:Seeking experienced Quality Engineer to perform in a team lead capacity, ensuring onsite LM team timely actions and/or development and execution of standard work that improves team and supplier effectiveness and efficiency. Also, candidate will serve as onsite POC to engage DCMA leadership, assist in conflict resolution, and drive accountability to ensure timely execution (i.e. containment, RCCA, continuous improvement, etc.), as well as ensure team alignment and messaging to enable LM goals.
Responsbilities include:
- Enabling team of Quality Engineers (QEs) to maximize their potential through technical assistance, communication, coaching/mentoring, and championing SQM strategy and objectives.
- Leading team of Quality Engineers to plan and execute team goals, as well as represent decisional authority for F-35 Manager in cross-functional working meetings, supplier engagements, and customer forums.
- Data driven decision maker, capable of developing standard work, establishing surveillance plans, and planning/executing multiple continuous improvement initiatives to reduce/eliminate manufacturing escapes/defects to LM Aero.
-Assist QE drive rapid containment actions of quality escapes and effective read-across to protect LM Aero.
-Assist in evaluation of Root Cause and Corrective Action plans from supplier and facilitating discussions to improve effectiveness.
- Establish an effective network with internal and external functional stakeholders (e.g. JPO/DCMA customers, Supplier , program management, engineering, supply chain management, and other functions) to assist in issue resolution in a timely manner.
- Ensuring closed-loop communication to identify, drive and monitor quality improvements.
Basic Qualifications:
-Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 14 years or more of professional experience; or 12 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an expert, authority in discipline.
-Ability to work independently and without direct supervision.
-Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
-High energy, self-starting, team player who achieves goals.
-Communication experience in order to influence others in a concise, data driven manner.
Desired Skills:
-Master's degree in a business or engineering discipline
- Major assembly or Teammate F-35 experience
- F-35 Program knowledge, including the ability to understand F-35 engineering data packages, including GD&T requirements, material and process specifications, and schematics.
- Familiarity with the manufacturing and inspection techniques for one or more of the following types of parts: metallic machined or formed, composite laminate or bonded assemblies, air vehicle and missions systems (electronics), hydraulic or pneumatic components.
- Experience developing successful performance improvement plans (e.g. return-to-green plans, zero-defect plans, supplier excellence plans)
-ASQ Certified Quality Engineer
-Lean & continuous improvement practitioner (e.g. Six Sigma Green or Black Belt)
- Experience interacting with government customers (JPO, DCMA, DoD)
- Excellent interpersonal skills needed for collaboration, communication, and presentations at working and leadership levels.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
