Lockheed Martin's Missiles and Fire Control business is experiencing growth at our campus in Chelmsford, MA. Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control's Microwave Center of Excellence is seeking to hire an RF Principal Engineer who will have the opportunity to join a team of highly competent RF engineering professionals involved in the design, development, and test of complex RF / Microwave subassemblies at our campus in Chelmsford, MA. What You Will Be Doing

In this highly visible role, the RF Principal Engineer will have the opportunity to architect and design Radio Frequency systems and circuitry used in high frequency and microwave applications, including receivers, transmitters, antennas, and frequency synthesizers. Responsible for hardware layout, component evaluation, prototype construction, and test.

- Prepare test methods and specifications; analyze and test RF hardware to verify performance characteristics. Provide inputs to Product Development for formal documentation and support manufacturing during the deliverable assembly and test phases.

- Develop RF System/Subsystem Architectures consisting of: transmitters, receivers, low noise amplifiers, high power amplifiers, RF conversion elements and transmission line equipment.

- Perform RF system/subsystem/component trade studies and CAIV analysis. Supports Life Cycle Costs, reliability, availability, and maintainability analysis.

- Be the technical lead on development programs and IRAD projects. Lead teams performing root cause analysis and failure review board activities in support of product issues. Lead design reviews, ensuring good RF design practices and processes are in place.

- Mentor and coach less experienced engineers.

- Applicants selected will be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering/technical discipline from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 15 years or more of professional experience.

- RF architecture design experience.

- Experience in high frequency RF testing techniques.

- Ability to obtain a secret clearance and must be able to obtain an interim secret clearance prior to start.
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering/technical discipline from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 20 years or more of professional experience.

- Experience in system simulation/analysis (SystemVue or AWR VSS)

- Experience in full-wave simulation/analysis (HFSS or CST)

- Experience in RF circuit simulation/analysis (ADS or AWR Microwave Office)

- Experience in high frequency RF testing, evaluation, and troubleshooting, including the use of an RF probe station

- Willing and able to mentor multiple design engineers

- Wideband RF system and circuit design experience

- Commercial RF design experience

- Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
