You will be an Environmental Engineer Sr for our Environmental, Safety & Health team. Our team is responsible for ensuring that our practices are in compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and orders, and that we maintain a culture of environmental responsibility.

What You Will Be Doing
As the Environmental Engineer Sr, you will be responsible for driving environmental compliance efforts and enhancing essential programs across the site. This includes implementing policies and procedures to ensure environmental compliance and developing programs to increase employee awareness and knowledge of compliance policies. You will work closely with various stakeholders to evaluate compliance, and to ensure that our practices meet the highest standards. You will support a variety of program activities within the ESH organization, including but not limited to Air Program compliance, RCRA Hazardous Waste compliance, and NPDES Stormwater compliance.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Interpreting federal and state laws, regulations, and orders as they apply to environmental practices
• Implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with statutes and regulations
• Conducting inspections, completing action plans, and maintaining documentation
• Developing and implementing programs to increase employee awareness and knowledge of compliance policies
• Auditing and evaluating current policies, procedures, and documentation for site compliance

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance. A company-sponsored interim secret is required to start.

Candidate must be able to pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (“ATF”) background check to obtain approval to be an “employee possessor” (of explosives or other ATF-regulated items) as defined by ATF regulations. Failure to obtain and retain employee possessor status may result in revocation of an offer and loss of employment.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree
• Experience with Environmental regulatory monitoring and compliance
• Previous competent experience with environmental laws and standards (such as Air, Water, RCRA Hazardous Waste, & Stormwater)
• Must be able to create and update company policies and procedures related to environmental compliance
• Ability to collect, create, and analyze data
• Experience with training employees on environmental regulations and best practices
• Experience reporting to and interfacing with regulatory agencies
• Ability to interpret, apply, audit, and communicate (both orally and in writing) regulatory compliance requirements, across all levels of the organization
• Must be self-driven and able to plan and execute work with limited direct supervision from senior management and/or peers
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship
Desired Skills:
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered career, or journey, level
• Advanced knowledge in a field of science, environmental engineering, or related discipline
• Knowledge of and experience with ESH management system elements, such as ISO 14001/45001
• Knowledge of environmental sciences/engineering systems, principles, and methodologies
• Knowledge of national and international environmental laws/regulations and regulatory/resource agencies’ permitting processes and responsibilities, industry standards for environmental compliance, and best management practices for minimizing potential environmental impacts during project execution
• Knowledge of engineering and construction systems, methods, and work processes
• Knowledge of construction planning, estimating, procedures, and execution
• Experience in managing and/or providing technical oversight of environmental subcontractors or consultants.
• Experience in environmental monitoring and compliance inspection during construction
• Knowledge of hazardous materials and waste management, erosion and sediment control methods, and restoration techniques
• Knowledge of Bechtel’s organizational structure, functions, and administrative procedures
• Knowledge of Arkansas Hazardous Waste, Air, and Stormwater Regulations
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
