Description:The Double Eagle (DE) program is seeking a Colorado (CO) Mult Functional Engineering & Science Manager, leading the vehicle engineering team. The Vehicle Engineering Manager (VEM) is the functional leader for engineering personnel to include associate managers, team leads, and chief system engineers. The VEM is responsible for technical execution of Statement of Work requirements and the staffing, training, certification, career development and retention of all assigned system and subsystem engineers and is required to be on call 24X7 to respond to and manage resolution of mission operations anomalies. The VEM is responsible for working collaboratively across LM SPACE lines of business to enable and provide proactive end to end system engineering across development, maintenance and operations contracts to ensure corporate success.

The VEM will be the primary customer interface for this functional area and will be responsible for representing the contractor management team and leading the development and across program (site functional areas, enterprise interfaces, and factory echelons) coordination of program technical recommendations to senior customer management decision authorities.

The VEM is responsible for developing innovative approaches to efficiently and effectively execute and sustain mission operations while simultaneously managing and validating technical change to advance new mission capabilities. This also includes ensuring this functional area is prepared to accept responsibilities for new capabilities to include training of new personnel, development of engineering and maintenance procedures, and creation of automation products to efficiently perform daily tasks. The VEM will chair weekly functional area working groups and review boards and is responsible for managing special projects, engineering activities, and functional area risks and opportunities.

This position has financial responsibilities to execute within budget on a Cost Plus Award Fee (CPAF) cost control account and will be accountable for meeting CPAF performance criteria. The VEM, with inputs from the Site Lead, will actively maintain the staffing projections for their functional area to ensure certified personnel are in place to meet execution requirements and will work closely with other managers to coordinate staffing and employee development activities.

The VEM, along with the supporting management team of Full Spectrum Leaders, ensures that all customer, LM Corporate and company requirements are met by the employees with respect to security clearances, compliance training, performance management, correct charging to programs, metrics collection, relevant process framework establishment/ adherence, travel and other areas of compliance. In addition, the VEM and supporting managers will oversee the development of employee performance objectives, including skills development and other developmental needs. The VEM will have responsibility for overseeing the implementation of the annual performance assessments and salary administration for the team.
Basic Qualifications:
• Leadership experience in an operations or O&M program with a proven understanding of managing customer domain, mission(s) and key personnel
• Possess financial acumen and planning skills
• Experience in driving innovation/process improvements
• Strong Interpersonal skills with teamwork and transparency as a priority; demonstrable written communication and oral presentation skills
• Comfortable briefing senior contract and government officials on technical engineering procedures and concepts; ability to translate complex technical concepts/topics to all levels
**Active Top Secret / SCI with CI Poly is required**

• Functional Manager (L-code) Experience
• CAM Experience
• Understanding of the DE customer organization and policies
• In-depth knowledge of the DE program, mission, processes, and business rhythm
• Factory or site experience in various lifecycle phases of an operational system (i.e. development, initialization, operations, sustainment, closeout)

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: Standard Monday to Friday 40 hour work week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $118,100 - $226,400 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
