Job Responsibilities
Description:You will be a Packer for our team at Lockheed Martin Archbald, a full-service Missiles and Fire Control facility that provides design, manufacturing, engineering, and field service support for domestic and international customers. Our team is dedicated to delivering high-quality products, and we're looking for a skilled Packer to join our team.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Packer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Fabricates bags, unit wraps and corrugated containers to support the items being packed for shipment
• Constructs wood crates and wood containers as required for packing applications
• Packs or crates products as required or directed to established specifications
• Works with Operations leadership, Production Control, Customer and Government Representatives daily in a courteous and professional manner
• Stores all material in a safe manner, utilizing space to maximum advantage
• Participates during internal and external audits as required
• Sees that shipment is taken to dock and loaded on truck
• Validates paperwork to product
• Employee will receive and/or process material for storage and use as required
• May use basic hand tools and power tools as required when performing specific heavy pack crating and palletizing applications
• Must maintain a clean and orderly work area
• Applies marking information as required per contract
• Maintains records of results
• Physical condition allowing:
a. Lifting 50 pounds
b. Standing, sitting, bending, walking, 10+ hours per day
c. Personal protective equipment including Steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, and wearing a respirator when required
• Adheres to safety guidelines and the correct procedures for performing tasks to prevent personal injury or damage to product and/or equipment
• Assist in the training of employees as assigned
• Supports continuous improvement activities and participates in problem solving activities
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Must assist in training others

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:
• Must be able to become Licensed Forklift operator
• Must have knowledge of DD250 and 1149 documents
• Must have knowledge of Mil-PRF -23199, Mil-Std-129, Mil-Std-2073
• Needs advanced computer skills
• Must be able to work outside when needed
• Needs to be able to work with hand tools and drills
• Must be able to work off shift schedule if needed
• Must work overtime when needed
• Transportation and shipping experience a must
• Must be able and have full knowledge to file export documents thru the AES government website and create bill of ladings for Ocean and Air and Truck transportation
• Being able to lift items 50 lbs
• Needs knowledge of how to handle Haz-mat product and needs shipping knowledge to prepare shipments and DOT bill of ladings
• Needs to be able to fill in for shipping clerk when needed
• Must be able to create mil spec labels and know how to use mil spec software
• Must be able to safely move product with tools such as forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and similar tools
• Must be able to count using tools such as scales and x-ray part counters, and other measuring devices
• Must be able to obtain crane/hoist certification
• Must be able to support a flexible work schedule supporting overtime, off-Fridays, weekends, and/or alternate shifts to support product schedules as required
• Must be able to obtain a Government Security clearance
• Must be a US Citizen
• Basic computing literacy is required
• High School diploma or equivalent
Desired Skills:
• Experience using overhead cranes and other devices for lifting products or material specific containers.
• Previous experience in a warehouse or inventory control environment
• Responsible for training new personnel on policies, procedures, and duties
• Forklift experience
• Packing and Shipping experience
• Inventory Control experience
• Shipping and traffic experience
• Familiar with proper Electrostatic Discharge Sensitive (ESD) handling processes & procedures
• Experience working in a receiving stockroom or shipping area, or loading and unloading parts, or packing or unpacking materials, and keeping inventory counts
• Ability to work well with others and cross shift with others on the same work
• Be a self-starter and be able to work with limited supervision
• Demonstrated computer skills areas of LM tools including SAP, Apriso, Command Media, PAL and Windchill
• Demonstrated Microsoft Office computer proficiency

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
