The Work:
C4ISR is looking for a proven and experienced technical leader to serve as the Chief Engineer to the AIR 6500 for the >$1B AIR 6500 Joint Air Battle Management System (JABMS) program. This position is an EXPAT position based in Adelaide, Australia.
The AIR 6500 Chief Engineer will be responsible for the following:
• Is the Engineering & Technology interface to the program office and the customer for all engineering matters on the program.
• Responsible for overall Engineering & Technology cost, schedule, and technical program performance while ensuring overall technical integrity of the product; provide an integrated Engineering & Technology solution to the program.
• Ensure that the program’s Engineering & Technology processes/procedures and other required process assets are defined (in compliance with RMS policies, processes, and procedures, and contract requirements) and followed.
• Be cognizant of program cost and schedule as they relate to technical integrity.
• Be responsible for technical leadership and performance for the program. Assure lead engineer activities are performed.
• Ensure that the requirements baseline is fully documented, traced, and is maintained.
• Ensure key Technical Performance Measures (TPMs) are actively tracked.
• Ensure that Engineering & Technology meets technical commitments made to programs.
• Continuously drive technical process excellence. Focus on enhancing program execution by leveraging proven processes, sharing lessons learned, and adopting best practices coming from other parts of the business or industry.
• Ensure approvals/sign-offs are sought from Engineering & Technology as needed, e.g., for Proposals, Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates, and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).

Basic Qualifications:
• Previous experience with leading and managing large international development program (>$500M)
• Previous C4ISR and IWSS domain knowledge & experience especially in the area of Command & Control, Air Battle Management, Weapon/Combat System, and Air & Missile Defense Systems
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of systems engineering processes, architecture development, product development, and integration & test.
• Prior experience with application and implementation of Digital Transformation processes and tools
Desired Skills:
• Experience with both cost plus and fixed priced contracts
• Previous experience as a technical and functional leader
• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build strong working relationships internally and externally
• Demonstrated experience in motivating, inspiring, and teaching others to accomplish program objectives
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Proven ability to communicate well with peers and different levels of management.
• Demonstrated ability to provide clear guidance and direction to team and prioritizing competing requirements

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $164,300 - $289,800. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $189,000 - $327,635.
